Agricultural Mechanic – West Midlands – Salary DOE

This is an excellent permanent opportunity for a highly skilled mechanical professional to support the servicing, maintenance, and continuous improvement of agricultural and operational machinery within a modern production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across agricultural and production machinery
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently to minimise operational downtime
- Service and maintain tractors, harvest machinery, trailers, conveyors, pumps, and associated equipment
- Conduct machinery inspections and ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
- Support machinery upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety and operational procedures
Qualifications & experience
- Proven experience within agricultural machinery, heavy plant, fresh produce operations, manufacturing, or industrial maintenance
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic capability
- Hydraulic systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Transmission systems
- Diesel engines
- Welding and fabrication
- Basic electrical diagnostics
- PA1 / PA2 / PA6 (advantageous)
- Forklift / Telehandler certification
- Welding certification
- LOLER / PUWER awareness
- Health & Safety training
- Full UK driving licence
Candidate requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
