A varied dairy role with accommodation and a regular rota.

Talent Agri is recruiting an experienced General Farm Worker for a dairy farm near St Clears, South Wales.

The farm runs a 240-cow autumn-calving herd across approximately 300 acres, with a strong emphasis on grazing during the spring. Cows are milked through a 24-point swingover parlour.

This is a hands-on position combining dairy work, livestock care, tractor duties and general maintenance. The balance of responsibilities will reflect the successful candidate’s skills and experience.

Your responsibilities

  • Carry out milking and maintain consistent parlour hygiene and milk-quality standards.
  • Monitor cattle health, welfare and condition, reporting concerns promptly.
  • Assist with autumn calving, fresh-cow care and calf rearing.
  • Support daily feeding, bedding and livestock routines.
  • Help move cattle and manage grazing allocations, fencing and water supplies.
  • Undertake tractor and machinery work within your experience and training.
  • Carry out general farm maintenance and routine equipment checks.
  • Keep livestock housing, yards and work areas clean, safe and organised.
  • Maintain records relevant to your duties and communicate clearly with the farm team.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience working on a dairy farm.
  • Confidence milking and handling cattle safely.
  • Good stockmanship and the ability to recognise animals needing attention.
  • Tractor-driving experience, with relevant machinery tickets.
  • Practical maintenance skills and a willingness to turn your hand to different tasks.
  • Reliability, good communication and pride in completing work properly.
  • The ability to work independently and contribute to the team.

The package

  • Salary depending on experience and agreed responsibilities.
  • One-bedroom flat on site included.
  • An 11-days-on, 3-days-off rota.
  • Preferred start in December 2026.
  • A varied role within an autumn-calving, grazing-focused dairy operation.

For the right long-term appointment, the owner is open to exploring the possibility of building a house. This is a future consideration rather than a confirmed part of the package.

Couples are welcome to enquire. There is one vacancy available, so this may suit someone whose partner has separate employment.

Full working hours and accommodation terms will be discussed during the recruitment process.
